Ladakh is home not only a few but 20 passes that makes it the Land of High Passes. “La” means Passes and “Dhak” means numerous, and thus Ladakh is known as the “Land of High Passes”.

Here are the highest and best mountain passes of Ladakh that prove why Ladakh is indeed called as the Land of High Passes:

Zoji La – Dare to Drive

Zoji La is a fairly daring and exhilarating pass for nature lovers as the green valleys are taken over by sterile cliffs and here the winter never seems to end. Roughly 11757 feet above the sea level, Zoji La is one of the most famed mountain passes in Ladakh. Besides the tourist attraction, this pass also holds high strategic value as it lies on the National Highway or popularly known as the Srinagar-Leh highway which connects Ladakh with the rest of India. This pass is a must visit for all the adventure lovers and nature lovers as it also offers a stunning picturesque view of the plush green forests laden with snow.
